UK Residency & Citizenship by Investment

The Tier 1 investment visa is an option for investors looking for a residency visa in the United Kingdom. To be eligible for a UK Investor visa, you must have at least £2 million in hand and be able to invest it in actively trading UK companies.

Investor visa requirements

You must meet the following criteria to be eligible for a Tier 1 Investor visa:

-  You have at least £2 million in assets that belong to you, your wife, or the two of you together.
-  The funds are held in a government-regulated financial institution.
-  You must open a bank account with a controlled bank in the United Kingdom with the intention of investing at least
   £2 million in the country. -  You will not be required to meet any English language requirements as a UK Investor visa applicant.

What is the period of a UK Tier 1 Investor visa?

If you apply from abroad, your initial Tier 1 Investor visa will be valid for either 3 years and 4 months or 3 years (if applying from within the UK). Within three months of joining the group, you must spend at least £2 million in successful UK businesses. After that, you'll have to keep your money in the bank. As a Tier 1 Investor visa holder, you will be able to extend your stay for another two years before applying for indefinite leave to remain (settlement) after five years.

Processing times for visa application
The majority of visa application centres outside the UK have a priority service, allowing Tier 1 Investor visa applicants to make a decision on their entry clearance applications within five working days. Tier 1 investors who want to extend their stay in the UK can apply for either a regular eight-week consideration. Tier 1 investors who want to stay in the UK indefinitely will apply for either a regular six month consideration or a priority ten working day consideration.
