The Tier 1 investment visa is an option for investors looking for a residency visa in the United Kingdom. To be eligible for a UK Investor visa, you must have at least £2 million in hand and be able to invest it in actively trading UK companies.
You must meet the following criteria to be eligible for a Tier 1 Investor visa:
- You have at least £2 million in assets that belong to you, your wife, or the two of you together.
- The funds are held in a government-regulated financial institution.
- You must open a bank account with a controlled bank in the United Kingdom with the intention of investing at least
£2 million in the country.
- You will not be required to meet any English language requirements as a UK Investor visa applicant.
If you apply from abroad, your initial Tier 1 Investor visa will be valid for either 3 years and 4 months or 3 years (if applying from within the UK).
Within three months of joining the group, you must spend at least £2 million in successful UK businesses. After that, you'll have to keep your money in the bank.
As a Tier 1 Investor visa holder, you will be able to extend your stay for another two years before applying for indefinite leave to remain (settlement) after five years.
